Quality policy
Code of Quality Management, published by CIOB in 2019 suggests that a Quality Policy: ‘...defines the objectives for quality and the organisation’s commitment to quality. The quality policy shall be relevant to the organisational goals and the expectations and needs of its customers. The organisation must ensure that the policy is understood, implemented, and maintained at all levels of the organisation.'
It suggests that: ‘The Quality Policy should outline the systems and procedures in pursuit of the quality targets, stating expectations of the project team, and all other stakeholders that work on / visit the site. It should state the roles, responsibilities and authorities of the project team and the specialty contractor requirements to ensure they meet the quality standards on the project. The objectives and effectiveness of the Quality Policy should be subject to audit on a regular basis, at least annually, to ensure targets are met and the Policy remains effective in a changing business, construction and compliance / legislation environment.’
